As per the information received under RTI act, 642 RBI-pensioners died during the year 2013-14 only. Babus in M/o Finance are quite indifferent to this. Although Governor has lamented the loss of life, but at the same time he states what needed to be done on his part has been done. Meaning- Wait and wait till eternity! Let us wait!

It’s really tragic that our own ex-governor Y.V.Reddy has reportedly not considered it worth while to make a mention of the need for immediate up dation of the pension of retired RBI Personnels. It was also unfortunate to learn that our Hon’ble Finance Minister has largely remained ‘uninterested’ in solving this much prolonged and crucial issue. Ironically, the central government employees have all along been enjoying this facility as a matter of right. But why this discrimination? Are RBI employees not the Indian citizens? What is their fault?

The next meeting of Central Board will be in Delhi where the Finance Minister will address the Central Board Members.The United Forum may again impress upon the Governor and Board Members for an early decision to the Pension Updation,Pension Option and Ex gratia as the Bipartite settlement of Commercial banks have reached understanding with IBA.
At least ex gratia and One more Pension Option to start with.

Dr.Jalan gave life to Pension Updation.Dr. Reddy killed it.Dr Subba Rao tried to dig it out and give life to it but failed.Will Dr.Rajan succeed?Let us hope he will.He has done harm by combining Pension Option with Pension Updation and asking Govt. to decide.Till then only Pension Updation was in Govt.Domain.Now the Bank need not take a decision on Pension Option also.Distressing.

pension updation should be compassionately, seriously and quickly done which will give immense relief to the much suffering pensioners in these days of unbearable inflation, corruption and exploitation.
